COLOCATION DATA CENTER
Design and construction of a telecommunications center for the FTTH (Fiber to
the Home) optical networks project on the Island of Krk according to the highest standards outlined in the project task.
DATA CENTER FOR BROADBAND NETWORK
Project Task – The task involves the design and construction of a broadband network in NGA white areas of the Island of Krk, specifically the construction of a next-generation fixed access electronic communications network in NGA white areas of the Island of Krk. As part of the project, the contractor was responsible for the
design, construction, and testing of a colocation data and telecommunications hub according to detailed technical specifications. As a subcontractor to Kabel Net d.o.o., the company MEP carried out the design and construction works of the
telecommunications hub in a container with a TIER 3 design.
SOLUTION
Our engineers designed and implemented a solution fully tailored to the requirements of the project task, which includes:
- Design and production of a standard container with an area of 15 m², fire resistance of 60 minutes, and burglar-proof doors.
- Modular UPS devices in 2x(N+1) configuration.
- Diesel electric generator with a daily fuel tank.
- 2N power distribution (2N equipment power supply).
- Separate distribution of optical and power cables.
- 2N cooling system and ventilation.
- Four 19″ colocation racks, 42U height, with metered and managed PDU units
- Hot Aisle containment.
- Fire detection and NOVEC extinguishing system.
- Video surveillance and access control system.
- Environmental monitoring system.
- DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) system with a central display and redundant connection to a cloud monitoring system
Quality control and equipment testing result in a satisfied customer
QUALITY CONTROL
After the installation and internal quality control processes were completed, a full factory testing of the data center under full load was conducted. During the test, power outage scenarios and the transition of power supply to the DEA (Diesel Electric Aggregate) system and back to the grid were tested.
Following delivery, the equipment and hub were commissioned on-site, and all data center systems were connected to MEP’s central monitoring system.
