MEP d.o.o., as the project leader, along with four companies from Rijeka, is on a mission to create environmentally friendly passenger vessels.
Renowned maritime and technology companies from Rijeka, MEP, SARDA, CONMARE, and ZOROVIĆ have come together to implement the joint ECO SHIP project, which promotes the transition to environmentally friendly passenger vessels.
The ECO SHIP project consists of an innovative package of complementary products and services that include ship system design and installation, consumption tracking applications, and sailor education on a uniquely designed ship simulator.
The companies came together during the pandemic in 2020 with the aim of establishing a long-term value supply chain and meeting the market’s needs for transitioning to environmentally friendly vessels, with each providing their expertise.
MEP d.o.o. is responsible for designing and implementing critical power supply systems and uninterrupted power supply systems in maritime, Sarda d.o.o. is a project partner for developing applications for maritime transport, Conmare d.o.o. will provide ship system design, and Zorović d.o.o. will provide sailor education through its unique educational program for sailors on the market. Today, over 20 people are employed on the project, and that number is planned to increase in the future.
The ECO SHIP project will enable significant savings and greater economic efficiency in vessel operation, meet the latest environmental protection standards, extend the vessel’s life span in refurbished vessels, and provide a high level of expertise for sailors in operating environmentally friendly vessels.
The ECO SHIP project is particularly beneficial for integrators, as it will enable them to provide greater added value and market presence for their products and services. The first of these is the Tehnomont Pula shipyard, where the first version of the hybrid drive was built.
The project is co-financed through the call for project proposals: INTEGRATOR, from the European Regional Development Fund, OP Competitiveness and Cohesion Program 2014-2020. The total project value is HRK 7,102,258.37, of which HRK 3,454,527.56 is non-refundable.
