RUNE Enia – first container delivery to Slovenia
RUNE Rural Network Project is collaborating with us
The company MEP has signed a contract for the design, production, delivery, and installation of equipped telecommunication containers for optical nodes for the territory of Croatia and Slovenia.
The containers are equipped according to strict customer requirements with:
- Uninterruptible power supply systems 48 VDC with batteries
- High-efficiency cooling systems (free cooling)
- Cabinets for the distribution of optical connections
- Remote monitoring and management system
In addition to delivery, MEP has taken on the obligation of SLA maintenance of the same equipment.
The Rural Network Project (RUNE), implemented in the Republic of Croatia by the company RUNE for the construction of telecommunications infrastructure, was launched with the aim of providing ultra-fast broadband fiber infrastructure for users in rural areas of Croatia (Primorje-Gorski Kotar and Istria counties) and Slovenia.
RUNE is building an access network based on the Fibre To The Home (FTTH) model (fiber to the home) for all potential users in the project area.
By building in areas that are currently not covered by fiber infrastructure, RUNE will help local government units achieve the goals of the Digital Agenda for Europe 2020 by providing connectivity to the new fiber access network that will enable speeds greater than 1 Gbps.
This network construction concept also allows for the liberalization of the electronic communications services market, which ultimately:
- gives the end-user, a resident of the settlement, the possibility of independent selection of the operator – service provider who is most favorable to them in terms of price and service quality
- guarantees equal access to users with equal conditions for all operators.
RUNE is the first and currently the only international project at the European level that connects the territories of several member states through ultra-fast broadband infrastructure.
MEP has been in business for over 25 years and is engaged in the production, assembly, and maintenance of equipment for critical power supply and cooling of data centers, telecommunications equipment, industry, and all business and production processes that must not be without power or cooling.
